Cutscene Replay is a Windows replay-recording app built for streamers, podcasters, gamers and content creators. It continuously records a short rolling buffer, allowing you to save something that has already happened without recording an entire session.

Cutscene does more than save a single flattened video. It can export ready-to-share Horizontal and Vertical clips while also preserving your individual video and audio sources for editing.

This means you can publish the completed clip immediately or rebuild it later using the separate gameplay, webcam, microphone and audio files.

Yes. Cutscene can maintain separate Horizontal and Vertical layouts simultaneously, including different layer positioning, sizing and visibility for each source.

Cutscene saves the most recent section of the rolling replay buffer. Depending on your profile, it can export the Horizontal layout, the Vertical layout or both.

You can trigger captures with a keyboard shortcut, macro pad or Stream Deck-compatible keyboard command without leaving your game or recording session.

Yes. Cutscene includes a built-in clip editor for quick creator-focused edits such as trimming, cutting, captions, audio adjustments, playback speed, fades, overlays and other lightweight changes before export.

If you prefer to continue editing elsewhere, editable exports can also include the individual video and audio sources alongside the compiled clips, plus timeline and manifest files designed to make it easier to bring the project into compatible editors such as DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.

A source can be excluded from the compiled clip while still being preserved as an editable recording.

For example, you could hide a webcam from the published Vertical clip while retaining the original webcam recording in case you want to use it during editing.

Replay durations range from 30 seconds to a maximum of 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Shorter clips allow more captures to wait in the export queue, while longer clips use fewer queue positions to keep memory usage predictable.

No. The active replay window is held in memory until you choose to save a clip.

This avoids continuously filling your drive with long recordings and reduces unnecessary storage writes. Saved clips are then exported to the folder you select.

Cutscene is designed to run alongside games, streaming software and other creator tools, but performance will always depend on your selected resolution, frame rate, sources and computer hardware.

The app focuses on Full HD recording up to 1920×1920 (maximum), with support for up to 60 FPS @ 80MB/s. Lower settings are available for lighter systems and less demanding workflows.

Yes. Profiles remember your sources, layouts, recording settings, clip duration and output preferences.
